Squarely within the LMI wheelhouse, this project was an exercise in updating a classic bungalow, teeming with charm, but in desperate need of more space and an improved circulation through the home. Teaming-up with the owner's architect and builder already in place, we set about to improve flow, brighten rooms and create a modern-practicality within the decidedly and beloved, vintage abode. We kept the interior selections simple to highlight the charm, painting trim and doors, exposing shiplap, and keeping classic hardwoods -- all within a simple, black and white canvas. We then went about filling the interiors with colorful, patterned surprises to play up the fun qutionent. A couple with young boys and a passion for art, history, culture, music, and family, we helped them find the balance of preserving the charm of their old home, while updating it to work more efficiently for their family.
