liz macphail

The daughter of a Naval officer and interior designer, Liz grew up in homes from California to Virginia and from Italy to Japan. She holds a degree in Economics and Finance from The College of William and Mary, and spent 8 years in the ad world in NYC and Austin before honing her design skills at The Academy of Art.

One new job, two self-designed home renovations, and three kids later, Liz MacPhail Interiors was born in 2012. Drawing on a life spent making the most of new environments, her practice embraces a singular mission: create spaces that are as functional as they are beautiful.

Mixing the new with the old (clients’ family heirlooms figure prominently in her designs), seeking quality over quantity, LMi work never forgets that functional and fun aren’t mutually exclusive.

Now a sought-after, award-winning design studio, Liz MacPhail Interiors has an ever-growing client list stretching well beyond Austin’s city limits.

Liz lives in Austin, Texas, with her three sons, their rescue dog, Simca, two pet mice, one Holland Lop rabbit, a hermit crab and a bearded dragon in a busy home filled with light, art, well-loved books, and laughter.

Michelle parham

Michelle is our whip-smart Office Manager who keeps the business running smooth as silk drapery. A University of Dallas alum, she’s spent her career growing small businesses owned or co-owned by women. Though her work primarily involves interiors, her happy place is the outdoors; she spends an inordinate amount of time tooling around in her garden or hiking with her dogs.

Lindsay Warren

Lindsay, who comes to Austin via Colorado, earned a BFA and MFA from U of Colorado and U of Iowa, respectively, before finding her way to an eight year career in floral design. When she’s not procuring at LMi you can find her diving into the Austin music scene, dreaming up home projects in the aisles of Home Depot or hiking trails with her husband, Brad, and rescue pup, Todd.
